**Is it just me or is this redundant? Any crime that involves the death of a person, sexual assault, or bodily harm is punishable by the same punishments delineated in this bill. Adding that a violent crime to a person is somehow worse because that person happens to be gay, black, Mexican, Islamic ect. doesnt change the punishment.**

Your right, Cyn...but what this bill is designed to do is control thoughts and speech. If this bill passes then any group that is protected by it will have legal recourse agains bloggers, forums like this and any public speech. Their words will be considered "hate speech" and incitement of "hate crimes". Kate~
