Please read this article, look at the charts. Chew on it a while, I mean really think about the issue. Think to yourself about what it means if we can't get Washington to control spending NOW(and I am not talking about a "freeze").

How much are you personally willing to sacrifice in income and services to avert the disaster that is coming?

Good Evening Mom,

Well, that puts things in perspective and makes my spaghetti dinner a little less appetizing. What do we always hear from the donkey party? It's all these war expenditures that are breaking the bank. Provide for the common defense.
I cannot speak for anyone else, so I won't. But, we're not counting on receiving any social security money, nor medicare, medicaid, etc... Last year we bought long term catastrophic health care and disability insurance, we fund our own retirement plans each week (dollar cost averaging). We do this by living below our means. If we cannot pay cash for it, we don't buy it. If we don't need it, we don't buy it. We go out to eat a few times a month (I love to cook anyway). Zero debt=Freedom. A few dollars here or there really add up over the course of a year, and certainly over the course of a lifetime. Save, save, and save some more.

Great post Mom, this should be the only issue in November (obviously, right now too, but fat chance with the donkeys in charge). This debt problem is a pandemic in our society. It's not just the public sector, the private sector is leveraged to the hilt too, as are consumers (consumers are making headway though, billions per month). Governments, whether federal, state, or local are up to their eyeballs in debt.

Someone will have to make some very hard decisions, and soon. Questions like: Is it cheaper to lay off half of the governments workforce? Can we declare bankruptcy and break up those legacy costs (guaranteed pensions)? Can we eliminate government agencies a-z? Can we prosecute these lawless profligates? Can said lawless profligates be waterboarded three times a day down at Guantanamo Bay? There needs to be a liquidation sale across the nation at all levels of government to get this nonsense under control. A constitutional amendment should be enacted to limit foreign purchases of our debt. It is a violation of our nation's national security and sovereignty to have foreign influence, influencing our policies. It must be pointed out here that in my opinion everything that is going on today with this debt nonsense is by design. Socialist Sonsofbitches one and all (Sorry Dave). They should be impeached, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Nations, Companies, nor individuals cannot spend their respective ways to prosperity, they can however; spend their way to oblivion. Greece is a warning to us all, there will be more to follow, perhaps us. As Maggie Thatcher once said: "the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money."
Great post Mom.

Regards,

JT

JT,
Is it "normal" for the US to conduct ecomomic war games scenerios? This is an old article from last April. Don't remember seeing this one, or maybe I did but didn't think much of it at the time. They(UBS, probably Geithner and Bernanke as well) played out a collapse of North Korea and the stratagies of each country. China's recent lack of interest in our t-bonds and dumping of our dollars was a message; stop selling military equipment to Tiawan or else!

Good Afternoon Mom,

Very interesting article, quite disturbing too. This is why it is imperative for foreign nations holdings of US debt to be limited, very limited. Unwanted influences upon our security, and sovereignty. Hard to intimidate someone when they are holding a good part of your hand, yes? China will continue to dump dollars and mine for gold and silver, who can blame them? Did you see where the IMF sold a bunch of gold in after market trading?

Are you talking about the one a couple of months back to China and India or is there yet another one more recently?

Hey Mom,
No, it was this morning in pre-market trading. The spot price of gold fell more than $10 instantly. Greece????????

Hey everybody. Just checking in. Is there anyone here who has a real good grasp of economics and business fundamentals in relation to the current recession? I have a new blog site open and I was working on an article, but I think I am in over my head with it. So I was hoping to hand it off to someone else who could examine the information and assess it properly.

Send me a message if you're interested and I will show you the image I want analyzed. It's pretty fascinating, actually. Also, if anyone is interested in doing a test drive of the site before I launch it, go to

http://thespsulareview.blogspot.com/

You don't have to read the articles or anything. There are only a few up right now anyway. I just need some people to look through the site and let me know what they don't like about it, or what I can do to improve it. Go to the "Contact Us" tab at the top and shoot me an email with criticisms if you decide to check out the site and throw in your two cents.

Thanks!

Beth
