State Senator Kip Averitt announced today that he is withdrawing from the State Senate District 22 race. Darren Yancy is the only other GOP candidate and there are no Democrats running. There is a Libertarian candidate.
Averitt's name will remain on the ballot, leaving open the possibility that the ignorant or rogue Democrats could vote for Averitt. If Averitt won, and still did not want the nomination, a senate district executive committee of the Republican Party, including GOP County Chairs in the district will choose the Republican nominee, and the Democrats would get a chance to nominate the candidate.
So, Darren Yancy, has to keep campaigning to seal his victory. (www.darrenyancy.com). I have not seen a single thing wrong with Yancy on the issues. He is making state sovereignty / nullification a campaign theme.
He is planning to be at the Nullification Rally at the State Capitol on Saturday, Jan 16 from 2 - 4pm.
