If you think that the current uproar over the way our political leaders are heading is something new and has not been an issue, don't forget that during the Great Depression, many folks were unset enough to attempt to have their voices heard. Their main problem was getting the word out, unlike today when we have the internet. I ran across this by accident and thought some might remember the troubled times of the 1970s. For those kids of the 70s, this post and thread is for you. Does this sound familiar?

"Look what's happening out in the streets
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Hey I'm dancing down the streets
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Ain't it amazing all the people I meet
Got a revolution Got to revolution
One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no destination to hold
Pick up the cry
Hey now it's time for you and me
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Come on now we're marching to the sea
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Who will take it from you
We will and who are we
We are volunteers of America"

Yes a song by Jefferson Airplane. Here is the link of the video:

Heard this on the XM 40s station the other day... my son is now going around singing it!

It is about Pearl Harbor:

Down went the gunner, a bullet was his fate
Down went the gunner, then the gunners mate
Up jumped the sky pilot, gave the boys a look
And manned the gun himself as he laid aside The Book, shouting
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition and we'll all stay free!

Praise the Lord and swing into position!
Can't afford to sit around and wishin'
Praise the Lord we're all between perdition
and the deep blue sea!

Yes the sky pilot said it
You've got to give him credit
for a son - of - gun - of - a - gunner was he,
Shouting;
Praise the Lord we're on a mighty mission!
All aboard, we're not a - goin' fishin;
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition and we'll all stay free!
