With regards to the rally scheduled for 9/12 in Washington: I feel that, just as the media and some politicians on the left ridiculed our tea parties, they'll do the same for this march.
What we really need is to band together with our state legislators to keep the ball rolling on passing state laws reaffirming our states' rights. As of 17 July 2009, 39 of our states now have state sovereignty laws either passed or in process (per http://statesstand.ning.com/ ). For this reason, and the fact that not all of us can make it to Washington, I think we should also meet on the front steps of every state capitol on 9/12 - both to show our state representatives that we are there to support their efforts, and to show the national media that there are too many of us to fit in Washington alone.
Washington is a lost cause. They will continue to ridicule the people, and ignore our petitions for redress, as they’ve always done – but the state legislatures have the power to take back our country. We, the people, need to tap into that power and strengthen it with our support.
We should also take part in the Continental Congress 2009 by helping to select three like minded leaders from each state to be delegates to this event. Go to http://www.givemeliberty.org/ and click on your state for more info. Another reference site is http://www.wethepeoplefoundation.org/.
