View Full Version : Cornyn..a slimeball Texas Alert!! Stop him!!
Cornyn passing an amnesty bill.
Our "great-slimeball" senator, John Cornyn, has been working with the
Obama administration in the latest attempt by cheap labor allies
and liberal Democrats to pass an illegal alien amnesty. Please
send a fax to Cornyn about this:
Fax: 202-228-2856
You can call his office at 202-224-2934. This is simply
unacceptable in someone who's supposed to represent Texas
conservatives, someone who works for me.
The fact is Senator John Cornyn has betrayed his party, the voters who put him in office, and the people of Texas and America. Cornyn, a Republican In Name Only, has signed on to be a part of Bo Bo's (obama) sham
"cooperation" effort to "reform" immigration in America.
This is nothing but a hidden plan to betray the American people by shoving amnesty down our throats in the name of "immigration reform." It's
bad enough that Obama and the Democrats want to stab the American
people in the back, but it's "incredible" for alleged Republicans
to help them do it.
I believe some Conservative Texans have known for quite a while that Cornyn has not been one of us. On many important issues, he's a spineless moderate who can be counted on to let us down when the stakes are the highest.
Call his office now... Fax his office now! Email his office now!
arrrrrrrrrrg !!!

Luke, could you give me a little more information here? What bill are we discussing? when did this happen, recently? Where are you finding this information?
I tried looking up something recent about Cornyn and illegal amnesty and didnt find anything more recent then mid June. Listening to his speech in front of the senate at around that time I didnt hear anything that seriously troubled me. I didnt hear anything about just granting amnesty, but more that he was saying we needed to enforce laws on the books, makes some new provisions to deal with felonious immigrants so that they could not gain legal status, including those who have returned after being deported and those that went into hiding after being ordered deported.
I am willing to ask him "what part of NO did he misunderstand". I am willing to say taht the people of Texas want our borders closed, the laws enforced, and the illegals tossed back where they came from. I have no problem with that. However, I do believe we need some sort of immigration reform, some way of allowing for people to legally enter the US and become productive citizens. The fact that it costs thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to go through the process of legalization needs to be looked at. To be honest, most the people coming to the US through immigration are not rich. They are leaving where they are from and coming here because of the opportunities to make a decent living for their families, and most have little more then the shirts on their backs. Yes they need to go through a process, they need to learn about our laws, our culture, and most definitely our language, but we also need to take into consideration the cost of such things to ones who have so little.
We should allow those with work visas, who obtain them PRIOR to entering our country, and do not overstay their allotted amount of time, the chance to transfer that visa into citizenship. Those that keep their noses clean and are productive members of society. We should add a probationary period in which those who apply for and attain citizenship be observed to assure that they remain productive members of society. Not forever, but maybe 5 years, or 10. Anyone can "be good" for a year or 2, but the bad seeds will eventually show themselves and we need some provision to deal with those people.
A "get out of jail free" card.. not just no.. Hell NO! Immigration reform that encourages people to become citizens.. maybe, would have to see what it entails. Amnesty is a non-negotiable. Been there, done that, bought the ripped t-shirt, tried to return it.
So please bro, feed me some more info before I rip Cornyn a new one.

Cyneca there isn't a bill number right now that Cornyn is pushing. What he's doing is trying to pressure Obama to come up with some proposed legislation (which if you ask me is like asking a fox to come up with a chickenhouse management plan).
You can see what I'm referring to here:
http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/somosaustin/entries/2009/06/24/cornyn_calls_on_obama_to_prese.html
when he mentions, “Senator Kyl and I introduced one in 2005, a comprehensive bill. Senator McCain, Kennedy, others have offered legislation.”
You might be interested to read more about the Cornyn-Kyl Bill, which is an old bill from 2005 that he sponsored:
http://vdare.com/mann/050802_amnesty.htm
You should read the whole article, but a good summary is that "under S. 1438, more foreign nationals and going to be allowed to come into the United States to take Americans’ jobs for cheaper wages, and more illegal aliens are not going to be deported in order to allow them to find those jobs too."
Obviously if that's Cornyn's idea of immigration reform, then he's out of touch with his conservative base.
He is out of touch Period!
BTW, I havn't received a response from his office yet....

I think I'll change my name to yours. It's much better and downright funny besides. You're not far from me. If you ever get to Pottstown stop in and we can tell stories about how America used to be. My kids look at me now like I'm talking about another place. I guess I am!
Does he come up for election in 2010? Maybe we can get a thread in each state about the upcoming elections. If he is running in 2010, who might oppose him as a conservative?

dw,
I am working on voting records and profiles of incumbents and challengers up in the candidates section. It is a long and very tiring process. Alaska's incumbent just took me 5 hours to get done. However I dont have Cornyn on the list of those who are coming up for election.

Cornyn is a real sleazeball. One of the worst of the worst. But can he be beaten in Texas? Doubtful. I dont think the Dems have a big-name, celebrity-type candidate out there, and thats what would be needed to even have a chance.
