White House Says Climate Change Damage Happening Now

Global warming has already caused more heavy downpours, the rise of temperatures and sea levels, rapidly retreating glaciers and altered river flows, according to the document released Tuesday by the White House science adviser and other top officials.

Harmful effects from global warming are already here and worsening, warns the first climate report from Barack Obama's presidency in the strongest language on climate change ever to come out of the White House.

Global warming has already caused more heavy downpours, the rise of temperatures and sea levels, rapidly retreating glaciers and altered river flows, according to the document released Tuesday by the White House science adviser and other top officials.

"There are in some cases already serious consequences," report co-author Anthony Janetos of the University of Maryland told The Associated Press. "This is not a theoretical thing that will happen 50 years from now. Things are happening now."

What a crock! Why should they bother to ask any scientist with knowledge about the subject?

Meanwhile in NJ yesterday they had 3 inches of hail that they needed snowshovels and blowers to get rid of. While kids built snowmen in shorts in JUNE ( right global warming).:D

It was 64 degrees here today, well below average. It was 46 this morning at 5:00. A little nippy for mid-June wouldn't you say? My gut tells me that this global warming stuff is just another part of the big power grab.

Our government is cherry picking the people that will tell them what they want to know. They have no intention of talking to anyone with knowledge on anything they do.

Global Warming My Royal A$$.
This is Something I have never understood about the Army Corp of Engineers, And About Local Contractors, And Government.
Take Florida for Example, The Contractors want to sell Land, Swamp Land, In Florida, First thing they do is Get Rid of the Mangrove, Which has been on the Beaches from day one, And has been the reason the Beach was there to begin with, Then they fill in the Swamp land, A Natural Aquifer for the entre area, Plop Some houses up on top of this, Then Wonder why the Beaches are eroding.
New Orleans, Was built up from Decades of Soil and Silt being washed down old Muddy, The Missouri and Mississippi River, Then deposited on what is called the Delta, If Left alone it would still be building, The Army Corp. of Engineers puts a Wall around New Orleans, Which stops the Deposit of Soil, Then The Wonder why it Floods.
North and South Dakota, There are Ten Dams and Locks between South Dakota and Iowa, Stopping the flow of Water, and raising the Level of water behind them, Duh, I wonder why The Dakotas Flood?
We are Doing it to ourselves, Or Allowing others to do it to us. The Absolute Arogance of Man!!!

Lets see, make sure you build towns around rivers especially in the flats or bottom. Try and contain the river in a narrow corridor between two dikes. That way a town can be sure to get a face lift with the feds help (our money) every few years.

If there is an airport outside a city make sure that you build housing developments all around it, this way the people that buy the houses can complain about the noise problem.

I was in New Orleans in the old town, below the dikes, I had to look up to see the ships pass by, was I nervous, you bet.

Never thought about the mangroves but they had a major root system that held the land in place.

The whole thing is still about how stupid our governments are (local, state and federal) they have no horse sense, they can't think ahead, and since they are leaders they will not ask experts only people that will agree with them.
